Xiaomi brings two Redmi Note to India, priced up from Rs 8,999

Redmi Note is Xiaomi's first product to be selling on the offline channel, albeit Airtel's exclusive stores only. "People can head over Airtel.com/Mi in the coming weeks to register themselves for the 4G-enabled Redmi Note and then head over to the store to get their unit and 4G-SIM," said Hugo Barra, Vice President of International, Xiaomi.

The phone's are not locked and anyone has the liberty to choose their preferred choice of 4G operator, whenever and wherever they are available. Redmi Note, most of you are familiar about, comes to India in two variants; connectivity and chipset wise. While the 3G model packs the octa-core CPU for Mediatek, the 4G variant gets Snapdragon 400 quad-core under the hood. With 2 GB RAM and 8 GB storage, expandable up to 32 GB (64 GB for the 4G phone), Note packs a 13 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras. 3G Note offers dualSIM, 4G one is confined to single-SIM only.

Even on the software front, you'll find the differences. 4G Note is running on MiUi 5 over Android 4.4 KitKat, while the basic Note with 3G will be seen powered by MiUi 5 over Android 4.3 Jelly Bean version.
